DAY 129 Bubbling Along

Hi Journal & Friends,

A photographer I am not!

I wanted to post pictures of my favorite Christmas decoration, my Bubble Lites. Alas, they are all sort of fuzzy. I took about 20 and they were all fuzzy... it must be my camera (riiiight).

Last night I was watching them bubble, and smiling at the fact that they seem to take turns as to which one won't bubble. There are 14 on this string, and there are always 2 or 3 that "sleep". As a kid, I would watch my Mom flick Bubble Lites with her finger, and sometimes they "woke up". I do this now, and smile at the memory.

And I was thinking that my weight loss journey operates like those Bubble Lites. There are so many aspects of my life I am trying to get operating in sync... to bubble correctly. And it seems there are always 2 or 3 stubborn areas at any given time. I "flick" at them... sometimes I get them going, sometimes temporarily, sometimes not.

I am hoping that in time, with patience, I can get all the Bubble Lites of my life to all bubble in unison! In time... in time...

From Dr Phil's book: "Weight loss doesn't just happen; it happens one step at a time."

My verse for today: "It is God who arms me with strength."

My quote for today: "I've learned so much from my mistakes... I'm thinking of making a few more." --Author  unknown

Enjoy the Journey,

If anybody can get their bubble lites flickering in sync it is you. You have a beautiful determination!

What a lovely analogy. You seem to be bubbling quite nicely and setting of a beautiful glow. :)

Thanks for your input and I can identify with your analogy of Bubble Lites! It really is true that no man is an island, we do share the same emotions, but express them in wonderfully different ways.

Thank you Everyone, for sharing in my memories. This time of year is when we especially miss those we love. And I treasure my Bubble LIte memory of my Mom. :-) It's one of those little things you never think much of at the time, but it gets tucked away in your memory, a treasure to take out and re-live. :-)

Pretty lights.

The analogy with the bubble lights is really a gem. It's so true. Does this mean we go around flicking each other now? LOL Just kidding.

Mary...that's funny. So the next time we need a nudge, we can send a flick, flick! LOL!

I love this post.
My favorite lights were those old fashioned big ones. I wish I had some.
I think it's a juggling act, sometimes some bulbs bubble, sometimes others.
You seem to be bubbling right along.

Hi Chris,
Yes, those big lights are making a comeback around here in Oregon. But at the same time they are pushing the LED teensy new lights... they are supposed to be energy efficient. Awww, but there's no memories for me with those! To me, that's what the holiday is about, celebrating the birth of the Savior, and family memories.
