Progess Pics

This will be the official home of the Progress Pics... and someday, I will get to rename it to Before and After Photos!

I will just add more photos here in one place as I have them to share, with the link in the sidebar, so they will be easy to find. I don't know about other people, but one of the first things I look at are the Before and After photos! I find them sooo encouraging.

I've been on this journey a LONG time, finding what really works for me. If you've struggled and been up and down, please, NEVER GIVE UP, always always keep going. I did a lot of things wrong... but that one thing, I did right: I never gave up!

So, here is what I have thus far (click on them to enlarge...posting thumbnails will enable the page to load faster):

Note: had several dental surgeries starting mid 2014, so as soon as all that is straightened out, will get an updated photo.

Update: Diagnosed with cancer and other stuff in 2016; medications that messed with hormones; gained wt; lost wt; gained wt, etc. Hard times.  Highest late last year in 2017 was around 360. It's been a wild ride, all over the map. Writing this in March 2018;  currently at around 343. So... just keep going. Never give in, never surrender.

you are the incredible shrinking woman! Your pics prove you are melting away!! also you look so so YOUNG. My daughter said, "how come all your online friends are younger than you mom..." while we were looking at your blog....
I am 42. So there you go. I look older! Blah on this old hair, I need to get it lightened, I think hope (and pray, ha ha) that that is the reason I am looking older these days! He he

Oh, such nice comments!! Maybe some day I will have the courage to post some "before" pics that even *I* don't want to see: in my swimsuit! eeek...run...away...hide...eyes!! LOL!!!

Seriously, I WILL post them someday, when I can take some full length updates that show progress by comparison. That is on my "to do someday" mini-goal list.

Thanks, CinciMom11...now if the losses would just show up elsewhere, too, not just the face! Guess I will just have to be patient. :-)

Wow, Loretta ... wow, wow, wow !! You are doing GREAT! (But you already know that.) You are proof it can be done, so that is encouraging for the rest of us to hear. In your journey so far, what personal day-to-day improvements have you noticed (if any)? I know I look forward (soon, I hope) to being able to tie my shoes without looking quite so undignified ... hehehe -- Ann

I have just ventured into blogging and this is what I am going to blog - my weight loss journey. It's so scary and creates so much vulnerability to post pictures as well. You are are courageous and I plan to take the lead from you and post pics too....well when I figure out how to :) Good luck in your journey and keep it up!

Loretta, what I notice the most in these pictures is how you began to look younger with each pound lost. Do you see that? You are so gorgeous. Keep up the work. I know it's not easy, but you can do this.

Hey there Loretta,

How are you doing these days, you haven't done an update in awhile, I hope you're ok?

Retta said...

Hi Summerfun2014,
How kind of you to ask. But really, nothing has changed since my last post in Nov. Just busy with my art (over at artbyretta.com) and nothing new to write about here. I haven't posted any new photos since my dental surgery in 2014, when they had to remove all my teeth. Complications and 2 more surgeries, and the process is still not done. So I decided not to torture myself with photos until the dental work and dentures are all finished. Then, I might get my nerve up to post a new photo! :-D
