DAY 349 Another Short & Sweet Saturday

Howdy Journal & Friends,

I am excited.

For years and years, every summer I've had to say "next year I'll get to go".

And next year came, and I couldn't go.

This year--tomorrow--Jim is taking me to the Jackson County Fair, here in Oregon.

In the past, when Jim went places without me, I was glad he got to go... but deep inside it hurt so much that I couldn't go with him... and that he had to go by himself.

This means a lot to me... more than "a fair."

It means progress... freedom... living life, not watching everyone else live it... doing things together.

Sure, I'll have to take my Powerchair.. but I'm UP for it. I'm sure I can go all day... handle the heat.

I plan to eat some "fair food". Maybe a sausage dog, minus the bun. Just for the fun of it. :-)

I've got fresh batteries for my camera, and plan to bore ya'll to death with a gazillion pics next week. ;-)

From Dr Phil's book: "I'm not powerless over this behavior. I'm in charge of myself."

My verse for today: "Rejoice not against me, O my enemy, for when I fall, I shall arise. And though I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me!"

My quote for today: "Sometimes if you want to be a winner, you have to be willing to bear the scars from the fight." --Petra Salvaje

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

How exciting for you!!! That is so much better than any number on a scale...participating in life.

Enjoy every minute of the fair :)

Enjoy!! Fair food should be enjoyed when it's just this finally once. I know you don't do sugar, but you'll find other things.

:D Love the Scripture! :D

And LOVE that you get to go to the fair! It's just what you needed to get that exuberance back. It won't be perfect--but, my oh my, you won't be home alone wishing, either! :D

I really love this post! It's so full of hope and energy. I have several "next year I'll..." in my recent history, and next year, for sure!
(and Dr. Phil is right on, we are NOT powerless!)

OH, hooray!!!! That is so awesome! Dad and Kris left on vacation, so it's just me and Jude, and I think she's still a little young to be out there with all the heat and craziness with just me by myself. So, "maybe next year" for us! I can't wait to see your pictures!
