Hi there, Journal & Friends,
I had to apologize to Jack Sh*t.
I was wrong.
I left him a comment recently, eating Humble Pie:
Hi Jack,
Sean mentioned your interview over at Thatsfit.com, at http://www.thatsfit.com/2010/06/24/jack-ditched-the-sh-t-and-got-fit/
I just read it... and owe you an apology.
I haven't been a regular reader of yours because I thought, mistakenly, your focus was just "entertainment". But after reading that interview, I see your real heart, the whole picture. And I truly apologize for jumping to the wrong conclusion about you. I was so wrong. :-(
You are witty and brilliantly funny, but I was snooty about all the "poo" references, and found them slightly offensive. My loss... because I missed your real heart... which was not just to entertain (which you do brilliantly) but to truly help others along this tough journey of change.
I know you get tons of comments, so I hope you see this one. I am not trying to be smart or funny or witty or anything. Just a sincere apology, and I wish you the best of success for not only your excellent blog, but for your life.
Sincerely,
Loretta

Mr Sh*t graciously accepted my apology. In his email, part of what he said was this:
"I can't really defend or explain what goes on over on my blog; it really does seem to have taken on a life of its own. But I do like to think that I'm helping folks understand that this journey doesn't have to be all doom and gloom, all grimaces and sacrifice. I've learned that I can laugh at myself and still stay on the road to being a better person. I hope that's a message that comes across from time to time..."
I really like that point of view. I need to work on that.
Jack not only was gracious about accepting my apology, but went on to include my pic in one of his W.I.D.T.H. posts HERE.
Who is it that is always signing their posts with Enjoy the Journey?? Why did I think I had any business judging how others enjoyed THEIR journey??!! It's hard to see our own faults, but there it is... I guess that's how we grow.
So I am now an official follower of Jack DooDoo. ;)
From Dr Phil's book: "Your thoughts powerfully program you."
My verse for today: "It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way."
My quote for today: "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." --Benjamin Franklin
Enjoy the Journey,
Loretta

When I first read Jack I was put off. I wasn't sure what to think of his blog and I wasn't sure what he thought of it either honestly because I hadn't been there from the beginning. After a while though his blog really touched me and the funny part suddenly made sense and sometimes those get me too!
I love your WIDTH photo!
We all make mistakes and that's unavoidable, but being willing to examine them, admit them and rectify them, that shows real character. I really admire what you have done.
I've enjoyed his irreverent spin from early on. I think it helps to learn to laugh at ourselves and lighten up. I think we need to learn to take food less seriously. Cause wasn't/isn't that the problem? We think about it too much?
When I quit taking it all so seriously and realized it was just part of my life not my whole life, it became a lot easier.
Love the lights on your head. It's a good look. Honest. :)
I think Jack's super awesome! And good looking! And... waitaminute... how do I make this be from "Anonymous"?
Okay, gotta admit it--Jack's comment above is halarious! Deb
We all do that at some point as we race to get to all the blogs.. Awesome post and YES! I read your comment on Miz Fit....THANK YOU! Be seeing you around!
I do that to Jack all the time.
He always accepts my apology.
(So far!)
:D

I haven't visited your blog in a while. My apologies. There are so many good blogs out there all contributing their point of view. It's easy to make assumptions. I didn't read Jack's post or your comments but I admire you for looking closer and rethinking your position. It's not easy saying "sorry". At least not for me.

Once again L~ you're a true LADY.
I've only poked my head in once and awhile to take a look around. He is especially clever.
Well, being a purveyor of awful language myself...I didn't really have a thing to say about Jack's use of bad language. lol.
I was a truck driver in the army. bad words are like pez in a motorpool. I don't even cringe. I know I should. I am a christian. I am working on it. lol.
I saw Jacks heart when alot of people read a post that made them angry. It was a post about this overweight couple and their child. It burnt him up watching that...and I knew why. It was because he knew how it felt to be overweight in this society and he felt helpless to stop what was happening to that kid. He uses humor as a defense mechanism to life. I know, I do it too.
You are both great folks.
Love your post as always.
Great post! Jack Sh*t never fails to make me laugh, even when his posts really strike a chord with my own struggles. :o)
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
It always good when you can acknowledge when you make a mistake!! I think that's the bigger picture... Have a great weekend!!!
Loretta, you are so sweet, and how great of Jack to send you that message.
BTW, it looks like you are wearing a halo in that picture. You really are an angel!
