Hi Journal & Friends,
Surprise! Trisha at Butter Butt Chronicles has given me
The Versatile Blogger Award!
It has just a few rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award.
2. Share seven things about yourself.
I've told most everything major... guess I'll delve into the insignificant stuff, LOL!
1. Other than camping in Mexico with my family when I was a kid, I've never been outside the United States.
2. I know how to Tat. One Christmas I spent a gazillion hours tatting exquisite snowflakes, and included them in my Christmas cards. **Crickets...chirping** ... not ONE person ever mentioned them, so I guess they weren't the big hit I thought they would be! Oh well, they were still pretty, and I have some left that I hang up each year. *I* like them. ;-)
3. My middle name is Louise.
4. Growing up, kids used to call me Loretta Spaghetta (better than SOME of the names they called me!)
5. My favorite nickname was given to me by my Uncle Dave (who also gave us shiny silver dollars when he visited). It was SissyCat.
6. Growing up a chubby kid, my biggest fantasy was to have the power to be Invisible whenever I wanted.
7. Years ago my house was burglarized, and the goofiest thing they stole was a cheap plastic black and white blow-up-with-air love seat!! Go figure... burglars just have no taste.
(looked like this only black and white)
3. Nominate fifteen newly discovered blogs.
Ha ha! I'll try to find 15... no guarantees on that one. ;-)
Okay, here is who I discovered has not received the Versatile Blogger Award yet:
Shawn at Shawn's Weight Loss Journey http://shawnsweightjourney.blogspot.com/
Kimberley at K_The_Phoenix
http://the-phoenix-rises-again.blogspot.com/
Shelli at Shelli Belly
http://shellibelly.com/
Erika at Fat Like Me

Holly at Perseverance Within Me

Carol at Buttercup Counts Her Blessings
http://buttercupcountsherblessings.blogspot.com/
Patsy at Musings on a 100lbs + Weight Loss Journey
http://weight-off-musings.blogspot.com/
I looked up this list Wednesday night...it's now 1:30 am, and I'm pooped... run out of gas... cross-eyed... so if I missed you, please feel free to jump right in and snag it!
4. Let your nominees know about the award.
Better get to work on that now.
From Dr Phil's book: "Are your thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes moving you closer to what you want?"
My verse for today: "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged..."
My quote for today: "With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come." --Shakespeare
Enjoy the Journey,
Loretta

Congrats on your award, Sissy Cat. That is an uber cute nickname. The nickname that stuck with me is meps. My younger brother started calling me that. It's my initials. [I drop my married surname on the nets :D ]
PS Major cool you know how to make lace.
Awwww, Loretta, I would have LOVED the handmade snowflakes! I'm sure that many of the people who received them loved them, but in the hustle bustle of Christmas kept forgetting to mention them when they saw you.
I used to wish I were invisible, too. In fact, I have spent most of my life trying to seem invisible. Sometimes it works. But usually only when I don't want it to. sigh.
For freedom!
Deb
Congrats on your weight loss. I am on a journey too, I have 74 pounds to lose and I have lost 26 so far. Hope you can come by my blog!
Hi Loretta, I'm trying to get acquainted with all my fellow participants in Deb's Freedom Challenge. I love your blog and my goodness, what a story you have to tell. How encouraged I've become just by reading some of your posts. I hope to read all of it over time. For now, I started and read some from the beginning and also worked backwards a little from the present. Loved the "take the meat and spit out the bones" concept from a recent post.
Just wanted to say hello and good luck with the remainder of the challenge. I'll be back to your blog!
Sharon
You have cool info.
I have no cool info,
No middle name,
No nick name.
And no cool couch to cat - burglarize!
Congrats!
Loretta, I was a thoughtless young person. Thank you cards and communication were not my forte. Please forgive my lack of both. I know that those took lots of time and effort, and I apologize for not saying anything. You are so creative, and I appreciate that you would share a piece of it with me! Thank you belatedly.
....I should say that I am talking about the tatted snowflakes!...
Thank you, love. :D
Awww, Becca, that is so sweet of you. But please don't feel bad. It was arrogant of me to expect everyone else to love them just because *I* did. I learned a lesson that year, LOL!!
And just for the record... I kinda think most of us are that way when we are younger... at least, I know *I* was!! But... we learn. And I think you turned out A-Ok!
Hugs,
Loretta
