CHRIS: Bingo! That's the style I was playing with... it had elements of impressionism, so I called it Impressionistic folk art. It's a fun, whimsical style for light-hearted stuff.
This was my husband's motorcycle helmet. The rest of the pics are here: http://www.yessy.com/stephenson/helmet.html
Bike Bear was going on an adventure, riding his motorcycle around the world... "land, sea or air, we'll be there". Jim was in the Navy, and wanted scenes from land, sea and air. Not asking for much, huh!? LOL!
that is so so cute!!! I love it! I wish you were here I could get your to paint something cute on my helmet. When I get one. LOL I have one actually but now it belongs to Isabel so now I have none, but I live in a hilly area so our bikes have not been used (bikes not motorcycles, LOL) Anyway, supercute little bear!!!
Loretta! I missed this one till now! Hahaha. Thank you! LOL. I just love it! and yes, TO FREEDOM! WooHoo!! They'll just call us the 'wheelie wonders" when we're thin. hahaha. Deb
P.s. Bill happened to come upstairs as posted my comment, so I showed him the pics. He lol and loved them. He said that he'd wear the bears on his helmet and reminded me that the bear would go with HIS teddy bear.
I had totally forgotten. I did a tiny (1" x 2") counted cross stitch bear wearing a little jeans vest for a patch on Bill's jeans. When the jeans were beyond hope, he asked me to cut the bear out before I threw those jeans away-and he has saved it for years. Nice memory.
It's a goooood thing you live so far away or I'm afraid Bill would be showing up at your door with his helmet under his arm! haha
How fun that Bill lets you decorate the patches! I have tried to get Jim let me decorate the patches on his jeans and "bum around" pants for years! Nothing doing... yet he wore a teddy bear helmet! Weird!
One day he wanted me to patch the holes inside his jacket. So I did... and machine embroidered all over it with scrolly designs and a heart. It is hidden inside the jacket, so he "let" me. Mwa ha ha ha. Loretta =^..^=

Loretta, those were too cute...and on a helmet no less. It reminded of folk painting somehow.
Hope you are having a great Day.
