Hello Journal & Friends,
Most of you have already heard... so I will make this short. One of my heroes has died at age 96... Jack Lalanne.
His fitness show, The Jack Lalanne Show, was born on a local show the same year I was born, 1951. It went national in 1959, and he was on for 30 years, sharing his passion for exercise and good nutrition.
He was enthusiastic, passionate, eccentric. And he was always telling people it's never too late to turn your life around. I have so much respect for him.
So instead of posting some drivel about the "hard time" I am having, I think I will let Jack kick my butt one more time, in this short video.
RIP, Jack.
DAY 528

I love jack too. love this video as well. The thing is, he didn't spend his last years unable to move. He was active right up till the end. we are all going to die. But dying well, that is the key.
Hey my friend...I'm on the back side of my hard time. What got me through? Grit! I just kept pushing through no matter how hard it got. I kept my eye on my goals. During that time, did I grumble, cry, make mistakes, rebel, fight against everything good and healthy for me. Yes I did. But I also did a lot of good things too. I literally lost 6 months on my journey ~ I have made no real progress. But I've learned a ton, worked through a lot of injuries and persevered!! Now I'm on the other side, feel like I'm back and ready to go!!! So excited to get to my next goal ~ 20 pounds by April 15th!! You can get here too! Just stay focused, do good and healthy things each day, discipline and push yourself. I did not think I could do it, but I did. You can too!! I believe in you!!!
Get focused!!
Jack Lalane was awesome, and such a great example of how to live a long life. Rest In Peace Jack!
What an inspiration he was! RIP Jack.
Loretta - sorry to hear about your hand. I hope it heals soon.
Loretta, I loved Jack, He was an amazing man. Keep your goal in mind, it will come. What happened to your hand. I have missed a bit here while I was away. be well, keep on keeping on.
Thanks for the "tribute". Jack was a true pioneer and renaissance man. I remember watching him when I was a kid and thinking he was so cool.
Keep the faith, Loretta. You're doing great and you give a lot of great stuff to all of us in blogdom.
Loretta, I just discovered your blog!!! I am so thankful and thrilled I did! It is awesome!
Have a pretty day!
Kristin
I'd never heard of him before yesterday, but judging by the number of people in my friends list who posted about his passing on facebook, he must have touched a LOT of lives...
I remember him on TV when I was a kid. RIP, Jack. He remains an inspiration.
