For my usual Sunday favorite pics, I chose some that Jim took at a place here in Oregon that is famous worldwide: Crater Lake, in Crater Lake National Park. The lake was formed 7700 years ago when Mount Mazama erupted. Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States... and very beautiful!
Jim loves going up there to photograph the different seasons, and since it's getting COLD here, I picked an early winter scene. :-)
This first one is the typical Crater Lake pic, with the lake and island. But he also caught this funny little bird, looking back at the camera over it's shoulder. In the background is Wizard Island, which is actually a cone of the volcano (click pics to enlarge).
Jim went hiking around the Park, and took photos of these fascinating pinnacles. These spires are made of eroded volcanic ash, rising up from the edges of a creek. If you ever get to Oregon, don't miss Crater Lake!

Thanks for you note in my blog! I survived my early Thanksgiving dinner just fine! Sent home mac and cheese and the chips with my son and the oreo cake and M&M's with my daughter.
