Hi Journal & Friends,
A while back I wrote a post about the painting that I created to illustrate the short story "Stopover at the Backworlds' Edge", by Mary Pax at Wistful Nebulae.
I learned a lot doing that painting... about overcoming fear, determination, getting past the "ugly" stage and on to victory. I wrote about all that HERE.
Today for Friday Favorites, I'd like to share with you what Mary DID with that painting.
She has a wonderfully talented friend, TruNeVar (Nicole) who takes excerpts from Mary's stories, adds graphics and music and creates story trailers for Mary. TruNeVar has won awards for her trailer videos... you can see some of them HERE.
For newer readers, Mary is "one of us". She has lost around 100 pounds, and has maintained that loss for over 2 years. She is living her dream, her passion, to be a writer. That was her "fuel", her motivation, that fired up her journey to lose the weight in the first place.
Here then, is the story trailer video for "Stopover at the Backworlds' Edge".
From Dr Phil's book: "Your emotions flow from the meaning you attach to situations."
My verse for today: "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
My quote for today: "You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So... get on your way!" --Dr Seuss (Oh, the Places You'll Go!)
Enjoy the Journey,
Loretta

Wahoooo! That is soooo cool! Love it. Loved seeing your name in print. Custom art--wahoo!! :D Deb
Thank you, Deb, I appreciate that.
It was so fun to see the finished product. I watched it over and over, and still kept being surprised to see "me" at the end... LOL! Mary's video gal is one talented lady.

How cool is it that she took your picture and made it a movie! It must be neat to see it come alive like that.
