DAY 281 Do It Anyway & Consistency

Hi Journal & Friends,

Today is a "Do It Anyway" kind of day. Woke up tired... went back to sleep. Woke up again, still pooped.

But the new Kitty said "WAKE UP AND PLAY WITH ME, I'M ALL ALONE!!"  So, I dragged my sorry behind out of bed,  got coffee, waved the laser toy around to leech out some of her pent up energy so she would slow down to at least a Lightening Streak. Hopefully, Butterfly and the new Kid will be buds soon... and here I sit at the computer.

Here is The Streak... streaking across the bed with a toy in her mouth:

It's already 1pm Oregon time. I made a commitment today to stop talking about my walking program, and start DOING it. And so I shall. Whether I feel like it or not. I know that afterwards, I will be glad I did.

I had planned to talk about my latest stumble, and what I learned from it... but that will keep for tommorrow. I want to be genuine here, and not just pump out filler.

So today I will be consistent in my actions, regardless of how I "feel". I know that in time, those little consistencies will add up.

Today is just a small, average, "do it anyway" day in the neighborhood.

Off to do my walking.

From Dr Phil's book: "Whatever the situation, you can choose your reaction."

My verse for today: "Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name."

My quote for today: "When a person trains once, nothing happens. When a person forces himself to do a thing a hundred or a thousand times, then he certainly has developed in more ways than physical. Is is raining? That doesn't matter. Am I tired? That doesn't matter either. Then 'willpower' will be no problem."  --Emil Zatopek

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

This post made me think of the Nike ad, "Just Do It". I try to remember that when I'm hurting, but it's easier said than done at times!!

Consistency is so important, but something I'm lacking in regard to exercise! Thanks for the reminder!!

Well, okay, Lorertta. It's been pouring rain here all day. I waited to take my walk hoping teh rain would stop by now. Well, that and I had a 3 year old all day. But the 3 year old has left for home and it's still raining.

Sigh. Since you had the nerve to add the "raining" bit to your quote--I'll go do it anyway! :p

I had a day like this too! I tried to talk myself out of working out---but i did it anyway. I'm so happy for you my friend!!!! Thank you for sharing your story.

Cats love to chase those things, don't they? I mean, they're nuts over them. Do you think they know it's you moving the light? ;)

My best always,
Sean

yes! consistency is more important than perfection...better 30 days in the general area of 1500 calories then 5 days of 1450 and one blow out crap fest.
Good post loretta.

"Today is just a small, average, "do it anyway" day in the neighborhood." Those are the best kind! I hope your walk went well!

I know you are the queen of consistency. Thinks might have been a little off while you were dealing with health issues, but I can tell you're back! You rock consistency.

Haha, I love the picture of The Streak! She sounds like a little ball of energy!
