Hi there, Journal & Friends,
Yep, time again for... Toon Tuesday!
Continuing the Toon Alphabet, today is brought to you by the letter D.
Determination:
firmness of purpose, resoluteness...
firm or fixed intention to achieve a desired end...
How determined are you?
Has it increased since you started? Decreased?
Does it waver in the face of adversity?
Or does that just cause you to dig deeper, set your jaw and plow ahead?
To make it to the end of this journey takes a bucket load of Determination. Sometimes my Determination feels weak... and I need to remind myself of WHY I am doing this. I need to throw more wood on the fires of my Determination, to get that bonfire roaring again!
I can't drift, and take my progress for granted, and fall back into a passive attitude. Instead, I need to do whatever it takes to get revved up again, and take an aggressive approach.
It takes effort...
It takes work...
It takes DETERMINATION!

From Dr Phil's book: "No matter what happens, I'll stay the course. If I do what is required, I will succeed."
My verse for today: "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs."
My quote for today: "Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." --Calvin Coolidge
Enjoy the Journey,
Loretta

Another great post Loretta. I linked to your yesterday post in mine today. It was so excellent and exactly what I needed to hear. I also thought Ruby's post was excellent that you linked to. (I didn't even know she had a blog - I watch her all the time!)
Another fantastic post. Determination is key.
"No matter what happens, I'll stay the course. If I do what is required, I will succeed." This is exactly how I feel and words that come in really handy at the moment. After having a 4 pound gain. I can really use some determination. I'm determined. I'm in this for the long haul. Don't care how long it takes. I'm in love with the journey of losing weight.
Great post.
LOL I was going to e-mail you and say D should be determination. Then I figured you should decide what D is. :)
Rock on, Loretta!
Hi Loretta, thanks for visiting my blog. I have been an occasional visitor to your blog for quite a while. (too many blogs, not enough time!) You had a quote about art that I copies and kept for quite a while and now I've lost it. Something about the reason you create art, and the spiritual aspect of it. If you know what I'm talking about I'd love to know exactly what it was.
LOVE the Calvin Coolidge quote today. Thanks for all the work you do to find inspirational quotes and pass them along.
And congrats on your tremendous weight loss! Doesn't it feel good?
Hi Debby,
You are probably thinking of "Day 158, What is Your Passion", when I wrote:
"Create art that will make a difference, not just for my ego or my pocketbook, but for eternity... to be a blessing to others."
I still have quite a ways to go, but yes, it does feel good to have made progress! :-)

Without determination, we don't have a chance, do we? Work, work, work... no other way... no shortcuts... no magic pills!
Great post.
Dayne
Loretta, thanks so much. That's exactly the quote I was thinking of.
I borrowed from your post today--hope you don't mind. I gave you credit.
:) Yes, we press on. Deb
That's beautiful! I love the colors on one side and the black and white on the other. Lovely! You are incredibly determined.
Calvin has always been my favorite president, although I can't remember why. Nice quote. :)
