DAY 277 New Baby in the House!

Hi Journal & Friends,

Today is a better day... in fact, it is a wonderful day! I'm a new Mommy... today we brought home our newly adopted Furbaby. :-)

Some of you might remember that we lost our 16 year old Dusty a few weeks ago, leaving 6 year old Butterfly confused and lonely. We've given her a few weeks to grieve and adjust, and today we brought home a new Baby Sister for her. I'm hoping she likes the new kitten in time... so far she has greeted it with a huge, opinionated HISS!!

Here are the first photos. We weren't fond of her shelter name, so we decided to give her time to let us know what her "real" name is... in the meantime we'll just call her Baby Sister (or BS for short, LOL!)

We may be on a journey to weight loss and health, but in the meantime, life goes on. And today, it is fun. :-)

From Dr Phil's book: "Healing feelings...this key unlocks the door to emotional control so that you can quit looking to food for the answers to your emotional pain."

My verse for today: "The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever."

My quote for today: "There is no more intrepid explorer than a kitten." --Jules Champfleury

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta
=^..^=

Cutie patootie...ah babies...I like the Pre name you picked out. My dreaded PE teacher in junior high was nicknamed "baby sister" when she was a child, I guess. But she was anything but. Her married name was Strong..So she was forever known as Sister Strong. Though in alabama we pronounced it sista strong.

You really caught me off guard with the title of this post! I couldn't wait to find out about the baby. I thought for a minute you had been holding back on us! LOL

She is so adorable! You should be a proud "mommy". I love it....BS....LOL...too cute.

Very sweet. Love the little white toes. :) Looks like she was trying to put on footies and quit at her toes. Babies do that. chuckle.

The verse you quoted is one of my favorites. I have it on a magnet stuck to my desk...and my fridge that has a butterfly along with the verse and the words, "God has the perfect plan for my life!"

And so He does. Better yet, HE will see that it comes to pass.

:D That fills me with hope and reduces my fear that I've waited too long...

Have fun with your new baby.

Oh I so love little kitties - if only they would stay that small - enjoy your new addition.

Loretta, she looks just like my shelter kitty Lulu! She's 4 and weighs 12 lbs now. I brought home a new little brother for her and it took a month or more for her to stop hissing at him. Now they sleep together. I called him "Little Guy" for the longest time. Now he's Jazzy, short for Jazzpurr.

BTW your Mr. looks like a kind, handsome man.

You baby is so cute! I grew up with dogs and my mom was allergic to cats so my first experience with kittens was volunteering at the Humane Society. So glad you chose to rescue an animal. There are so many that need good homes and I'm pretty confident she'll be spoiled rotten in your house!
