Please excuse me for "cheating"... I copy and pasted the basic info, and just updated here and there, to save typing.
Time for our Challenge Update!
Before I start, let me answer someone's question: you post the link to your update here, on the Saturday Update, regardless which day you chose for your own update day. If you don't have a blog that covers weight loss, you're welcome to post the whole update here. Okay?
Here is a Summary of the Spring Challenge, and while it's too late to be eligible for the prize drawing at the end, anyone is welcome to join anytime, if you would like a boost to your journey. The challenge helps me focus, to have clearly defined mini-goals, offers accountability that gives me that extra oomph needed at times to DO what I need to do, even when I don't wanna!
Spring Challenge Warriors: go ahead and put the link to your weekly update, whatever day you chose, here in Saturday's comment section, so we can be together and find one another.
Overall goal of the Challenge: here is a great reminder from Mary, at Wistful Nebulae:
"The goal of this challenge is to teach yourself to look at your new behaviors positively, to learn to be nicer to yourself and believe in yourself, to learn to enjoy healthy behaviors and learn some moderation. A little balance. It's important. More important to learn than the extremes - too much and deprivation."
Okay... on to my own weekly check-in... remember these are MY goals... anyone joining us picks their own...
My Spring Challenge goals:
1. Every day for the next 13 weeks, do some kind of Exercise.
2. Every day for the next 13 weeks, drink a Greenie.
3. Check in every Saturday.
4. Tell one thing each week that I like about myself.
5. Save up to buy myself a fun Reward at the end.
My Exercise: Good til Wednesday, then nothing. Getting my heart rate up gives a pounding headache. Hope to be over that next week. :-(
My Greenies: Good til Wednesday, when I start the Puke Pills. Besides all the other side-effects, they make me horribly nauseous... I've made myself eat something, bites here and there. But couldn't muster up the energy to make my Greenie. I miss them... I do like them. :-)
One thing I like about myself: I didn't hire a hitman to take out the Doctor that prescribed the Puke Pills.... oh, that doesn't count??
Okay... here's sumthin...
--I try to be teachable... learn something from everyone. Everyone has a story, something to offer. Have a great story about what I learned while working at assisting developmentally challenged adults learn a trade... later, when typing doesn't take hours!
For my Reward: Ya know, MyGuy is such a legalist, he takes this challenge literally, not in the spirit it is intended. I refuse to disqualify myself for my Reward over something beyond my control. So heck yeah, I'm putting my five bucks in my bear jar... I might even double it!
Remember, we want progress, not perfection.
From Dr Phil's book: "Create accountability." (ha ha ha, found the shortest one in the book)
My verse for today: "Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
My quote for today: "Men of few words are the best men." --William Shakespeare
Enjoy the Journey, some days more than others,
Loretta

Progress--not perfection! I needed that today; I think I try too hard and wear myself out--mentally. Thanks!
I hope you are gradually feeling better....and will be completely better soon! Don't beat yourself up over not being perfect. None of us are. You are making progress...and that's what is important!
Hey, Loretta! You better put TRIPLE in that jar--you deserve that for pushing through and doing this post alone!
I had an excellent week four. :)
Praying for you to feel better soon!

Oh, wait. I forgot the good thing about myself. Sigh. Well, since I forgot to think on this, I'm going to have to go with the one physical thing that I like about myself. (I wouldn't have thought of it except for Loretta's one thing last week.)
I like my coloring. I have very green eyes, dark brown hair with a hint of red, and fair skin. It's a celtic lass that I am. I like that. (Uh-hmm. The red is fading & the grey is fast overtaking the brown, but I do remember. chuckle.)
Now, I have to go add this to my post. sigh.

I realize that I missed last week due to vacation and completely understand if that disqualifies me from any prizes. I am grateful for this challenge - it is helping me keep things in perspective.
