DAY 495 Giggle With the Goats & A Wowzer of a Peek!

Hi there Journal & Friends,

Uh oh...Toon Tuesday got bumped this week for a video!

It's Christmastime... time to laugh and love and rejoice!

So today I offer you the most adorable one minute and thirty seven seconds you will ever see this Christmas!! If you don't at least crack a smile and forget your troubles while you watch this, then butter my behind and call me a biscuit! (what does that even mean??!!)

And if you don't celebrate Christmas, then just celebrate cute prancing goats, enthusiasm and joy!!

Today's Peek at the Past (Wowzer! In my search for the post from 1 year ago, I stumbled upon THIS one, and it smacked me right between the eyes! In a good way, ya know? I needed this reminder. I'm not one of those who gets huffy being reminded of something I already know. If I were living it up to it's potential, then obviously it wouldn't have had such an impact on me. So I really appreciated the fire it lit under my... ahem... derriere.)

From Day 185, February 10, 2010:

...if someone told you that you, and you alone, are 100% responsible for the state of your life....how would you respond? Would you feel like it was "bad news" that YOU are responsible for the mess you are in...??

I don't look at it that way. To me, the Bad New is also the Good News. In fact, it's not really bad news in the first place.

If I made the choices that got me INTO this mess... then I can make choices to get me out.

Dr Phil McGraw, Life Law #2: You create your own experience.

"You cannot dodge responsibility for how and why your life is the way it is.... If you are overweight, you are accountable. ...You are creating the situations you are in and the emotions that flow from those situations.

Don't play the role of victim, or use past events to build excuses. It guarantees you no progress, no healing, and no victory. You will never fix a problem by blaming someone else...

Every choice you make — including the thoughts you think — has consequences. When you choose the behavior or thought, you choose the consequences. ...When you start choosing the right behavior and thoughts — which will take a lot of discipline — you'll get the right consequences."

...I have had to acknowledge that I did this to myself. That was a hard pill to swallow in the beginning. It's a lot easier to think of yourself as the poor victim...somehow more sympathetic, or so we think. But that is a trap!

It takes away all your power to change...the power that comes from believing that you can make GOOD choices NOW and create a better future.

From Dr Phil's book: "Enjoy the rewards of physical and psychological fitness... you will find a new level of personal power, you will have matured."

My verse for today: "Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him."

My quote for today: "At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us." --Albert Schweitzer

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

I loved the video! How do you post You Tube on your blog? I've tried--but can't seem to get it.

DAILYSEEKING: EasyPeasy... just go to youtube.com, and find the one you want. Under it you'll see Embed. Click it. It will open a box of code. You can pick the size of the video. I usually pick either the smallest or the next one. (the bigger it is, the longer it takes to load, which is hard for those with slow computers.

So, click on the size you want, and that will adjust the code. I usually turn off the boxes that offer related videos and just leave on the one for privacy.

Then copy and paste the code right into the New Post page on blogger, just like a post. Should work.

If you see one around the web you like, all I do is find the link on it that says View on Youtube and click it. That takes me to the original on youtube, and I can get the code and pick my size, etc.

Hope that helps!

Oh, my! How have I never noticed how adorable goat are? Forget dogs - I want a pet goat! They look so sweet and cuddly. Growing up, my neighbor had a bunch of goats in his fenced-in front yard. Neat. :)

LOVE the Dr. Phil quote!

Awwww, they are sooo cute! Great video.

Powerful look back, too.

The goats were a "look back" as well, as I thought of our own baby goats that we had when we were teenagers. Of course, then I am challenged with the "if only's" of: if only we knew then what we are learning now. But it is what it is and the only way I want to go is up. And I am responsible for that too! Thanks for sharing and helping me when I am feeling punk.

for some reason it reminds me of three billy goats gruff and it did make me smile. And being responsible for our choices is the best news ther eis...that means we can do something about them.
Like when I told my friend I would rather be fat through gluttony than a thyroid problem...cause I can fix the gluttony. lol.

Hi Loretta,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on the Nativity video. And I loved the goats!

I am also a Dr. Phil fan, so thanks for the reminders you included in your post. I needed to hear some of his pearls of wisdom--and yours. Have a wonderful, peaceful holiday.
