DAY 316 Sunshine Award, Last Call & Summer!

Marvelous Monday to my Journal & Friends!

Jan at Writing to Wellness  recently gave me the Sunshine Award... thank you, Jan!

And with awards, there are of course, rules.  Here they officially are:
Nominate 12 blogs;
Put the award logo on your sidebar or within a post;
Link the nominees within your post;
Let the nominees know they’ve received this award by commenting on their blog;
Share the love and link the sidebar logo to the person from whom you’ve received this award.

Well, it looks like I've been hanging around Alan, at Foolsfitness  too long. He doesn't usually follow awards rules too closely... in fact, he's more likely to invent his own, LOL! So I am being a copy cat. It seems most people have already received this award... so it might be a little hard to find someone.

But I wanted to pick  Stacia at Swimming It Off   because I admire all her hard work and consistency.

 Whenever I am tempted to get lazy, all it takes is one visit to her blog and I get a good kick in the pants. :-) You rock, Stacia!

Now, on to the last call for check-ins for the
Spring Challenge
Please give a holler before tonight at midnight, to let me know you are still alive an' kicking.

It's hard to realize that 13 whole weeks have gone by. When the challenge began, that seemed like FOREVER.

It just goes to show that time will go by, regardless of how we spend it.

We can waste it, or use it, making progress. Honestly, if I hadn't been leading this thing, I wonder if I would have tried so hard?? As it was, I struggled the last two weeks. I am so grateful for those that jumped in and joined me on the Spring Challenge. It'll be fun announcing tomorrow the winners of the prizes from the random drawing.

We have two prizes from a couple of generous Spring Challenge members:

1. Mary at Wistful Nebulae has offered your choice of exercise DVD's, several to choose from.
2. Christina at Making Healthy the Norm  has offered a healthy Larabar sample.
Thanks, guys!

Well, I need to get my head into this journey for Summer! I feel like I've gotten lazy, and just had this "hang in there and finish the challenge" mentality. I didn't do ANY exercise over the weekend, and while still within weight loss portions, my calories were higher than normal.

SO! Onward and forward... Summer has officially begun today, and I am giving myself a big kick in the tush!

To have more, requires more effort. I refuse to settle for mediocrity.

That means I've gotta up the ante, and if I want an excellent result, then I've got to give an excellent effort... and lately I haven't.

I believe I can do this with an attitude towards myself that is positive, affirming, loving, cheering myself on. Not lashing myself with a whip, but rather, waving my own pom poms in the air and shouting Go me go!

That's the kind of support I want to offer to all my bloggy friends, too. Don't settle for less than your best... that is the best way to love yourself!

See? I gave myself an old-fashioned pep talk... and now I feel better and ready to take on Summer, LOL!

From Dr Phil's book:  "When you kill time, remember you can't resurrect it."

My verse for today: "Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever."

My quote for today:
Arthur: Normality? We can talk about normality until the cows come home.
Ford: What is normal?
Trillian: What is home?
Zaphod: What're cows?
--from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

OMGoodness thank you ! and I feel guilty because I have been kinda sick and haven't worked out in 3 days now and I started full time at work with over 40 new swimming kids. In fact I spent 6 1/2 hours in the water today...none of it working out, but all of it VERY active!

oh and thanks for cheering me up a lil... I think when the sun comes for real this year I will be much less grumpy and down.
