DEC 31st Peace & My New Theme Badge

Well, time for a new Theme poster for my side bar! I can't believe 2012 is over... whoosh, and it's gone!

I wasn't going to do another. I was feelish sheepish about mine from this last year.

But a friend asked about it, and encouraged me to do one (thanks, Margaret!). To Believe, to go forward. So...

After thinking about it, I realized I wanted my theme for 2013 to be: PEACE

Even while I work on my health goals, I can do it with peace. Not striving and full of angst. Not whining or regretting. Not looking backward, but rather forward.

Remember that saying?  Let go and let God

My peace comes from the Prince of Peace, not dependent upon external events or circumstances. In fact, sometimes those circumstances can be kinda crummy! But regardless of how it feels at times, I know God is in ultimate control; willing to heal, encourage, guide and give us His peace. Sometimes I have to remind myself of all this, in order to experience that peace. I want to work on stuff, to fix it, to "make it better". And this year offered some tragic events, that hurt so many. And brought up many questions, to which I have no adequate answers.

Hence... I must let go, and trust God. And that brings peace.

People may not always be good, but God is. That's the foundation for my peace. That's just what I believe with all my heart.

I took the design for my Theme from some doodling I've been doing on my walls at home! (I'll post more about that another day). Edited to add link to that post HERE.

Here's the wall shot (can click on any pics to enlarge):

Cropped it and cleaned it up:

Inverted it:

Added text:

And finally, added some subtle color...
can't do without that color, dontcha know!

I hope you all have a wonderful, peaceful 2013!

Enjoy the journey peacefully,

Loretta

Works for me.

Peace .... People may not always be good but God is.

If only my doodles were as creative.

Blessings

I love your art... I'm a bit of an "arts and crafter" and love to doodle, but I'm not this good ;)
Before I moved south, I had a whole hallway of my house covered in doodles and whatnot ... it always made me smile! Happy new Year

WOW! I'm so impressed with your theme poster for this (and last) year! I loved following the steps. Fabulous! I also love the theme and the way you personalize it, taking peace to heart. Oh yes... this is something I need too. Together we get better in peace.

I love the doodle!! But you already knew I would. PEACE is the perfect theme...reminds me of a song written by Joel Hemphill, and sung here by this daughter Candy, who married a man with the last name of Christmas. Really. Candy Christmas.

I think you learned a lot last year, Loretta. And I think this year you will find your freedom...you already know where your help comes from.

I think you'll like the song.
The Only Real Peace I Have, Dear Lord, is in You.

PS: I want to see the finished wall!

Thanks, Robin, I'm glad you enjoyed following the steps. I love watching the process when I visit a blog, so figured someone else might like that, too. :-)

What a meaningful song... thank you so much for the link. I loved it.
Oh, the wall... well, it took me 6 months to get this far! I'm thinking I'll be dinking around on it the rest of 2013! But I decided it was worth it to add the color, so I'm not quitting til it's done.

Oh I am glad I found this! Definitely subbing! Congrats on your phenomenal successes!!!!! I really loved this post because I agree so very much with it. I know that my own successes didn't start appearing until I made peace with myself and my surroundings. A really great message!

Thank you, Debby. And sending out a big Happy New Year to you and your fur-babies, too!
