DAY 318 An Award!

Hi Journal & Friends,
The other day Sheilagh, at Sixty is Good  was kind enough to include me in her list for the "Life is Good" Award. Thank you so much, Sheilagh!

Isn't it pretty??

Since the Rules for this one are simple, I supposed I'd better be a good little blogger and comply. ;-)

1. Answer the following 10 questions.
2. Pass it on to five favorite bloggers.

 Here goes:

1. What would your perfect day consist of?

Be all caught up on chores, house clean and beautiful, no pressure to DO anything. Hubby and I would pack a light picnic, including diet Hansen root beer soda...take our cameras and blankets and pilllows, and drive up into the cool mountains near a lake...and just be lazy, looking for photos to take, and have time to talk and really listen.

2. How would you describe yourself if you were an item of clothing?

Depends on my mood that day...

Maybe this silk Kimono...

Or this one...

Or this...

Or this hand painted silk dress...

Or this...

Or this, only with flip flops and pink toenails!

Yeah, a lot of ideas... but all my life I've always had to wear what "fit", not what was "me". So this is meaningful to me. It is a big deal to me... the freedom to wear Me Clothes.

3. What hobbies are you currently working on?

Doodling, sewing, blogging, photography, soon to be learning digital art with my coming Bamboo fun drawing pad.

4. Walking in the woods in wellies or bare foot on the beach?

What's a wellie??
Definitely barefoot on the beach.

5. Have you ever hugged or sang to a tree?

No, but I occasionally talk to my plants... and to my kitties every day.

6. Growing your own veggies or nipping to the supermarket?

Both... right now we are enjoying eating our Snow Peas, strawberries, zucchinis, and soon our blueberries and peaches. Yummmm...

7. Have you found anyone exciting in your family tree?

Maybe not exciting, but I am fascinated about my great Granny White, who was Cherokee; in her late nineties she would sing lullabys in her native tongue to my older brother.

8. Slap up meal in a posh restaurant or fish 'n' chips from the wrapper?

Huh?
How's about a nice, heathly picky meal from our local smorgasbord. ;-)

9. Which element do you most resonate with, Earth, Air, Fire or Water?

Earth... here is what it brings to mind...

Laughing as I rolled down a green-grass covered hill.

Luscious plants, flowers, trees, forests... all growing in the rich earth.

The rich soil bursting with microscopic life, which helps all the larger life grow.

All of us larger beings depend on the abundance of food that grow from the earth.

Discovering beneath the surface stunning  gifts of precious gems ... opals being one of my favorites.

In the beginning we were made from the earth... in the end, our bodies return to the earth.

We are  learning to take care of our EarthSuits (our bodies) even as we need to take care of this Earth.

Most of this planet is water... which makes our little habitable portion of Earth precious, and we need to take care of it as good stewards.

Off of soapbox now. ;-)

10. Do you believe in fairy's?

Myths are fun to believe in.

C.S.Lewis taught a course in University on the origins of myths.

He believed that they were based in Truths... and over the generations and countless re-tellings, they morphed. But originally, they were our way of passing on great Truths about the One True God.

And now for the hard part... narrowing it down to just 5 bloggers! So in no particular order, here are 5 bloggers I enjoy that I would like to tag for this Award:

From Dr Phil's book: "Ultimately, only you--and you alone--are responsible for getting your weight under control."

My verse for today: "...to Him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever."

My quote for today: "Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat... We must find each other." --Mother Teresa

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

Loved this post! Many of your answers are the same as mine will be--different detail, but basically the same. I find that interesting and very cool. :)

Thanks, Retta! I know you didn't mean that part about 'in no special order.' Haha!! You are totally an Earth woman, by the way. :)
