DAY 163 It's Toon Tuesday

Hello there Journal & Friends,

I had someone ask about the painting I have at the top of my blog page, underneath my blog name... whether or not it was some of my art. So since it IS, I chose it for today's Toon Tuesday.

The name of it is "Joy in The Morning". It was part of a series of small paintings on 4" x 4" canvas. This first pic is one of the rough sketches I made, to work out composition and color (click to enlarge).

And now the finished little painting (click to enlarge).

I hope you like it, it was fun to do. I especially enjoyed researching bunnies for this series. :-) You can see the rest of the bunny series (HERE).

The reason I posted a "re-run" was because I didn't finish the Toon I am working on. :-O   I decided not to rush, but to take my time and enjoy the process. I had visited Bella's blog a while back, at Bella on the Beach. She had posted a wonderful theme drawing someone had created. They chose a Theme for 2010, with key words, and then made a little banner to post on their blog. I loved the idea! (see Bella's post here)

Here is the one she posted that caught my eye, and inspired me to make my own:
She also had another one in the same style (HERE).

So I am hoping to have mine finished for next weeks Toon Tuesday. If you like the idea, hop on board and make one for yourself. Be sure to let us all know, so we can admire it. :-)
Thanks, Bella, for passing on a great idea!

From Dr Phil's book: "What you really want is to feel better about yourself."

My verse for today: "Let love and faithfulness never leave you."

My quote for today: "Color in a picture is like enthusiasm in life." --Vincent Van Gogh

You are so blessed to have artistic talent. I love interior design and often think it would be nice to be able to display art that I created myself. Do you have your own art displayed in your home?

Nice work. I have been trying to do some drawing. I once was pretty good at it. I've discovered I'm a little rusty.

Hey, Loretta! I, too, am a fan of your art.

Thanks for your comments on my blog. I am continually amazed at how similar our experiences have been. Perhaps one of your toons can be us cruisin down the Highway to Thin on one wheel. LOL!

This year's theme? It's freedom, Retta, FREEDOM! Who says we can't be free?!

Free to experience joy; free to like ourselves, free to take a deep breath; free to be exactly what God intended; free to walk with Him--free.

What a great idea, the banners.

I love looking at your art. So thanks for the link besides the posting of the bunnies. I posted another wallpaper - dessert sci fi hunks. :)

I always find you inspiring. Extra so with the art work.

I left you award [s] on my blog. Take what you like. :)

Thank you everyone, I am so pleased that you like the bunny.

KAREN: My hubby is a photographer, so I have to share walls with all his photos! But that's okay, they are beautiful.
