DAY 156 Doodling Around with Toon Tuesday

Hi Journal & Friends!

I must admit that Toon Tuesday is my favorite post to make. :-D What can I say... it's tied in with my passions and dreams! Art is a major reason WHY I am losing weight and getting healthy.  I want to be the person I was created to be, and a large part of that involves art.

In a nutshell, I want to learn to love God and love others. And one way I can love others is to offer art that might be encouraging or uplifting, that people might enjoy. To bring a smile, to add joy or beauty. You won't find me doing a "Guernica" like Picasso (here).  I would be more guilty of doing a "happy" painting like Kinkade (here).  ;-)

Recently I learned of the existence of a thing called Mail Art from Alan, at Fools Fitness (HERE). It was so much fun to do, that I wanted to share part of it that I captured with my camera before I mailed off the package (click to enlarge).

So, get out your Sharpies and doodle! If you post a doodle for your own Toon Tuesday, feel free to leave a comment with a link to it here on this post (or any Toon Tuesday), and I'll mention it so others can share in the fun.

Don't know what to doodle? Well, think of what you were going to say with words, and then add a doodle to go with it! Still stuck?? Pick a letter from what you were going to say (or the first letter of your name) and write it alone on a blank piece of paper. Now doodle all around it!

Don't feel like you have to be some kind of a professional, just have fun!

From Dr Phil's book:  "You can create an internal dialogue that is healthy, constructive, and joyful."

My verse for today: "Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

My quote for today: "To have passion, to have a dream, to have a purpose in life. And there are three components to that purpose. One is to find out who you really are, to discover God. The second is to serve other human beings, because we are here to do that.  And the third is to express your unique talents, and when you are expressing your unique talents you lose track of time." --Deepak Chopra

Gosh, I love it when you leave me comments. It makes me soooo happy!! I hope you are having a good week.

Oh, and about the award. I didn't give that award because I wanted the satisfaction of you accepting it or posting it. I gave it to you because you ARE beautiful and deserve to know it!

Thanks,
Olivia

I think I'll give a doodle a try. It might be very relaxing. Maybe I'll use one of my student's homework assignments. They always doodle on those. Maybe it'll inspire me.

You are truly an inspiration as well Loretta! You have accomplished so much already. I have no doubt you'll make your goal!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I'd say we definitely have the same problems with sugar and carbs. I do know that some veggies and fruits are carb loaded, but it's the processed breads that kill me...that and any added sugars. Now you have me wondering about the chia seeds! I'd love a link to the recipes you spoke of but I can't find your email here...perhaps I've missed it? (I'm quite new to blogging so I'm not entirely sure where to look?)

Best of luck to you and I hope we can become good friends!

That is awesome! You are so creative, Loretta. I have trouble drawing stick figures.

Oh, I wish I had more time...
I miss drawing and art.
Love the picture.
Reminds me of picasso.

OLIVIA: Thank you Olivia, that's sweet of you to say.

SHELLI: It's actually very relaxing and fun. I hope you post it.

BRENDA: The links should be in your email by now. Hope you have fun trying them out.

CHRISTINA: Aww, thank you. But I still think you'd have fun with it, even with cute stick figures. A tall one for you, and a short one for your little man.

CHRIS: Glad you liked it. Doodling is fun cuz you can use simple materials, start and stop at a moment's notice, no mess or fuss.

That is one awesome doodle and I am glad you are going to share more with the world. I found a bunch of Sharpies and Crayons we had for the kids at our wedding - so I was scribbling away and hubby asked what I was doodling -- I then turned to hearts and less scribbles.

I did a photo manipulation. :D I finally figured out how to get my software to work again, so maybe I can start making more. I used to find it fun.

Passions and dreams are so important. We're often told they're silly. Then we all find ourselves in trouble. I think it's because we turn our backs on them, and we need them to feed ourselves. Yaaay you!
