DAY 92 Countdown To Christmas - Week 1

Good Afternoon Journal,

Official business first: today's weekly weigh in was okay... 363, for a loss of 2 pounds. Sure, I wanted more, but I'll take it. :-) I am sooo close to a fun milestone of losing 100 pounds that I can taste it!! Only 3 more pounds to go... I wonder if I can do it by next week?? I think I will make that my new Mini-Goal.

On November 1st I joined the Countdown to Christmas Challenge (details here). We give an update once a week as to our progress.

My goal was simple: exercise 5 days per week.
Did I make it? YES.

I had to tweak it some, since I hurt my knee by being too eager too soon, but I did SOMETHING 5 times last week.

I rotated between chair-dancing with Richard Simmons Sweatin to the Oldies, my mini-trampoline, and trying to learn to hula hoop (does laughing out loud at myself while jiggling inside a hula hoop count as exercise??!).

(I'll bet I could do it better if mine was all lit up pretty... ha ha)

I am glad I joined the Countdown to Christmas Challenge, and especially glad the I put that little Countdown Timer in my sidebar, counting off the days until Christmas. For some reason, seeing that every day has really made it REAL to me that time is ticking by. Whether I do something healthy for myself or not, time will still fly on by!!

From Dr Phil's book:  "It's important...that you be realistic about what you expect of yourself and your life."

My verse for today: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble."

My quote for today: "You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas."--Shirley Hufsteddler

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

ONly 3 lbs to 100 lost? That's absolutely fantastic. Wooooot!

I think laughing burns more calories than not laughing. :) I'm impressed with your 5 days of workouts. You go, Loretta. You are going to meet your goal and keep going. I can see that. I get so happy when I read about your progress.

I'm still trying to learn all the moves to Richard Simmons. I spend part of the workout tripping over my own feet. I've never been very coordinated though.

WHAT A SPLURGE: Thanks! I have to agree with Winston Churchill: "For myself I am an optimist--it does not seem to be much use being anything else."

MARY/ANTGIRL: It's fun to have this mini-goal... it is helping me get focused again. I was getting too slack, both in exercise and portions. Even though my exercise isn't as vigorous as a totally able-bodied person, I think that being consistent will really help me.
I'm glad you are enjoying dancing with Richard!
