DAY 375 Challenge Update & Being Willing

Hello Journal & Friends,

So what is this... the end of Week 3 of the Just 1 Thing Consistency Challenge?!

My one thing is: to focus on exercising on my mini-trampoline.

It was tough this week, and last Tuesday and Wednesday I started to falter. But after seeing that Video last Thursday (HERE) I've kept up with my goals chart from Thursday onward. And believe me, sometimes that was the ONLY thing that kept me going! Remembering to give it all my heart.

I have a little timer strapped to the bar that I hold onto when I do my bouncing. And one thing has been consistent: I ALWAYS end up the last 30 seconds or so looking over at it to see if I am done yet?! And it helps to count down with it, thinking to myself "only 10 more... only 5 more... 4... 3... 2... 1.. done!!

But just think: when I first started this, I was only doing 45 seconds at a time!! So that's progress.

Start level: 3 times per day, at 45 seconds each time.
Current level: 9 times per day, at 1 minute 50 seconds each time.

Remember:

SMALL CHANGES
DONE CONSISTENTLY
PRODUCE POWERFUL RESULTS

Today's Peek at the Past
From Day 14, August 23, 2009:
Food was my drug of choice, whether sad, mad, happy or glad. I wore God's ear out begging Him to change me, to help me, to do SOMETHING.

Yet, bottomline I wasn't willing to "lose the food". Oh, I wanted to "lose the weight" but NOT the food. Not really...not for good. It would only last until the next big time stress hit, and then I would NEED my drug again, and lots of it...just this time...and the cycle would start all over again...

(I talked about "the scale" in that post,  and also listed several of my favorite motivational/inspirational sources. So if you are looking to be uplifted, you can go to the post for those links, HERE

From Dr Phil's book: "Have the willingness and courage to throw off your past, go after your weight control goals, and pursue a life that is defined as healthy and fit."

My verse for today: "How priceless is your unfailing love!"

My quote for today: "Your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. Constantly color your picture gray, and your picture will always be bleak. Try adding some bright colors to the picture by including humor, and your picture begins to lighten up." --Allen Klein

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

lol, that poor little dog...inches from extinction.
I know, I too wanted to lose the weight but not the food.
oy.
We are doing it though.
love that quote..
small changes done consistently produce powerful results.
Just knowing that you used to have to sit to do your exercise and now you are jumping up and down...too cool.

I understand. That's why this time was different for me. I was willing. I had powerful reasons. After watching that video I let the pilates women kick my ass. Will do so again today. I feel so amazing when I feel stronger and I like the muscles feeling more toned.

I flex my other muscles and don my armor, too. Have I mentioned how much I hate this part? I suppose that's why I'm a short story writing fiend right now.

I've always wanted a exercise trampoline but just never bought one. I think I'd like it!

I know what you mean about not wanting to lose the food. I LOVE food!!

I posted my 1 Thing Update HERE

Great update/post! I'm doing fairly well on the challenge, Loretta. And here is my challenge-related NSV for today ... I drove to the grocery store to pick up a few items, and I had more energy in my stride than I knew what to do with - haven't had an energy burst like that in years. It felt so good! I think it is related to the exercise I've been getting, even if limited.

What brand of trampoline do you use? And does it have a balance bar to hold onto?

ANN: Mine is a Needak, cuz they made one that was rated to a higher weight. It folds in half, and has a carrying bag; rated for people OVER 300 lbs. I talked to them and they said it would handle up to 500 if I remember right.

But if I ever bought a new one, I think I'd save up and get a "cadillac" one from here: http://www.qibounding.com/rebounding_videos.html

But mine has been totally dependable and I have a feeling it will outlast ME! LOL!

My husband made me a bar out of pvc pipe, that is attached to the wall. It pushes back close to the wall out of the way when not in use, and swings out over the rebounder; I like that I can adjust it when I want to, back or forth, on it's little pvc foot.

But you can buy ones that attach to the rebounder. But I didn't want it in my way; some days I want it closer, some days I am feeling steadier and want to swing my arms,so want to push it farther away. But it is great for getting up and down, since that is when I am most likely to fall. If you are at all unsteady, I highly recommend one of some kind.

i love crayons and colored pencils grouped together. Just LOVE looking at that. :D

Re: your excerpt from the past. Yep, I sure could have written that...in fact, I think I have. chuckle.

It IS hard to give up the drug. Partly because we haven't developed other copiong skills. (I know you know this.) I think I, at least, need to understand that. NOt to excuse when I slip, but to understand, skip the self-flagellation, and push on to develope those skills that I am lacking.

It takes work..and like you say, work between the ears, most of all!

Thanks for your insightful comment on my last post, by the way. Amen to it all. :D

Hey! I forgot to comment on the challenge!

First--Woohoo, you! That is tremendous progress you've made. If I could do math, I'd be able to tell what kind of percentage increase that is--but more than 3 times as much I think. :D Wahoo, you!

Second--:( You know how I said this was going to be an Awesome August? Well, it's been awesome alight, but not in exactly the way I meant it. More like, AWWWWWW someone stop me now August.

Of course, I'm the only one who can put on the brakes. :(

Beginning again, today. Standing on the brake pedal as we speak. :D
