Hi Journal & Friends,
For Thankful Thursday I had planned to make a list of things for which I feel thankful today.
But... then something happened. As I searched for light-hearted pictures to include, I stumbled upon a video that stopped me in my tracks. I literally froze as I sat and watched it... remembering.
You see, when I first started this journey, I felt like God promised to be with me throughout the journey... through the desert... to be my strength, my shade and my water.
All He asked from me was HEART.
I wanted to be sure I understood, so I looked up what it meant to have heart:
with all one's heart, sincerely, completely, enthusiastically, eagerly; with spirit, determination, resolve, purpose, courage, willpower, fortitude, spunk; absolutely, entirely, wholeheartedly.
As time went on, I read this promise that I had written down less and less. Until last night, when I saw this video.
Now I remember.
And that is what I am thankful for this Thurday.
Today's Peek at the Past (I was surprised when read this post from one year ago, to find that it dealt with exactly what I was thinking about today... gratitude!)
From Day 10, August 19, 2009:
...once you get into the habit of finding things to say "thank you" for, you start noticing more and more. It colors your world nicely. No, the "negatives" do not magically disappear and all is rosey posey. But, it helps me to remember the blessings, to focus on the good and not the bad...to try and live my life NOW even while I am on the road to recovery.
A gal named Shirley lost 175 lbs on the Dr Phil plan...and this is what she wrote: "Life is VERY short...VERY precious. Don't put off for even a day doing that one thing that takes you closer to being who you were created to be." (HERE for the complete post titled "Enjoy the Journey & Gratitude")
(I loved this bracelet so much that I bought
one last year from K.Voss Designs, HERE. She was
kind enough to add extra links on mine, to fit my wrist.
Guess what? A year later, I don't need them all now.)
From Dr Phil's book: "You must carve out time in your life for tension-reducing activities."
My verse for today: "Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."
My quote for today: "Life is a big canvas, throw all the paint on it you can." --Danny Kaye
Enjoy the Journey,
Loretta

It hurts... I know it does... keep going...don't quit. :)
This woke me up today loretta, thank you.
That was pwerful. thanks for that.
Every year, at the end of the year, I ask God what Hie wants me to focus on for the next year. For the past several years, it has been a variation on ONE thought: WHOLEHEARTED. Wholehearted devotion, following wholeheartedly, with an undivided heart... always the same theme really, wholehearted.
I have a private blog--it's password is "wholehearted" It has been God's word to me.
And if you read my post for today, you'll see I was remembering and feeling gratitude, too.
Apparently, God has a theme going. :)

It just goes to show what is possible when you put everything you are into everything you do :)
Oh, it does hurt. But you don't give up. It makes victory all the sweeter. Somedays it's really hard. What I'm doing now, somedays are rough.
I let those pilates women kick my ass yesterday. Today I am a heap of sore jello.
"coach, i weigh 160!" lol
Great video, loved the message behind it! I believe in the phrase "you can do anything you put your mind too" . Thanks for the inspiration :)
Our church played this clip; it's awesome!
I LOVE that clip. I loved the movie. I also loved the psalm you quoted. It is one of my favorites. The hard times make the good times all that much sweeter!
You go girl!!!

Mary
