Hi Journal & Friends,
This is the last of the Fair pics... I promise!
The first one with the umbrella is when we started out in the morning... bright-eyed and bushy tailed.
The young goat in the middle was so cute... all frisky and continually trying to butt the bigger goat with his baby-size horns.
The last one, lower right, is at the end of the day... wilted, hot and tired.
I can't wait til next years Fair!
Today's Peek at the Past (Wow, this reminder was perfect for me today!)
From Day 13, August 22, 2009:
So, FOR ME... daily spiritual input has to do with CONNECTING... connecting with that which is bigger than me. Maybe reading, or praying, or meditating... maybe a time of quiet and listening.
In the past, I used to have a more rigid approach...now I want reality, not form... a relationship, not legalism or ritual. This helps me get the "big picture", beyond my tiny world, or stuck focusing on the minutia of my day.
Connecting to the Eternal reminds me to live NOW. I believe that when life here ends, that is not the "end".
...I like the song that says: "I know not what my future holds, but I know the One who holds my future."
Many times I came close to quitting on this journey to health... giving up. But as I got close to the brink, I would feel tugged back, and the thought would comfort me that God wasn't giving up on me...and neither should I.

Enjoy the Journey,
Loretta

Tugged back from the brink. What a good way of putting that feeling. I've felt it many times on this journey--just last night, in fact.

Cute that pic of you all tired - yet glowing!
With the end of fairs, comes the onset of fall. This summer has flown by. I love fall, but don't like to see time going by so fast.
I think there is something in us that just refuses to give up. Thanks be to God.
Hugs,
Mary

The Summer Fair is a time for celebration. I'm so glad you had a wonderful time.
Love the victories
I loved your fair pics...and am looking forward to the art pics. Told my kids they are coming and I am hanging them in the hallway.
They are excited too. We all love new expression here.
God does love you and it's cool when you can feel it.
love you and the parasol.
and yes.
I did just refer to your umbrella as a parsol :)

Love your fair pics and this reminder...
daily spiritual input has to do with CONNECTING
thanks!
The Fair looks like such fun! I have beagles that act like goats; they taste everything and they climb.
Your final Fair foto is funny!
