Day 366 Deja Vu & My First Giveaway

Hello, Hello, Hello!

Today is my real BLOGAVERSARY!

I started this blog, this big, scary experiment one year ago on

 August 14th, 2009

And I'm still here! There were times when it would have been easier to quit... but I decided that "quit" is not in my vocabulary.

I somehow mixed up the count... so I have corrected the day number. Yesterday was the Real Day 365, completing one year. Like I said... math is NOT my strength!

I decided to celebrate my One Year Blogaversary by doing my first ever Giveaway!

It's the S.O.S. Giveaway...
Sharing Oddball Stuff Giveaway!

Since I have no fancy, schmancy corporate sponsor with cool products to giveaway, I'm going to do like I've seen other bloggers do... pass on some clutter cool stuff I think someone else might enjoy!

All you have to do to enter the drawing is leave a comment saying YES, you would like some clutter cool stuff.

If this particular giveaway doesn't float your boat, that's okay, because I'm going to do it occasionally, just for the fun of it (and to pass on my clutter cool stuff to YOU... mwa ha ha ha ha).

For this very first S.O.S. Giveaway, I am offering a set of small prints that I made a few years ago from some favorite paintings I did, that I called my Proverbs series. Each painting had a scripture from Proverbs somewhere in it. They are a little hard to read on these small prints. The scan of them below isn't the greatest, since I didn't want rip open the protective sleeve. (Click to enlarge, then click again for larger pic).

This first one: "Wisdom... search for it as for hidden treasure."

(Besides the obvious meaning, at the time I painted this I was
starting to really believe that we all are like unique Treasure boxes...
and if given a chance and opened, we are full of precious treasure. And in
spite of the dangers--shark, poisonous Rockfish, stinging jellyfish,
giant octopus, etc--it is worth the journey to discover our true selves.)

The next one I painted has: "Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

(The baby bears are intently watching from the safety of their cave,
as the Momma Bear is approaching a hive hanging from the dead snag,
to get her prize: fresh honey)

And the last one says: "A friend loves at all times."

(When I painted this, I was going through a very difficult time in my life
and my marriage; I felt very alone. Yet NOT alone. I experienced such friendship,
hope, companionship and love from God... I discovered that when you feel that you
have nothing left but God, you discover that God is enough. And then...
He sent healing into our lives, and our relationship)

The print sizes are all 6 3/4"  x  5 3/4", mounted on matboard. If you choose to frame them, they are made pop right in to a frame made for an 8 x 10 sized picture. No need for a mat, either, just glass; they are mounted "floating" style.

The originals were painted in mixed media... acrylics and watercolors (mostly acrylics).

So that's it. It's all done except the commentin'. Be sure to say whether or not you want to be included in the drawing (sorry, this will have to be for U.S. and Canada only, due to shipping costs).

Entries close on Aug 16th, Monday night, midnight Pacific time. The one lucky winner of more clutter cool stuff will be announced Tuesday, Aug 17th.

Come on...enter. If no one wants them, I'll die of embarrassment! Enter... enter!

From Dr Phil's book: "I have the power to choose."

My verse for today: "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it."

My quote for today:  "Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures." --Henry Ward Beecher

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

Yes... Enter me!! Enter me!! I love those. You painted the originals yourself? Wow! I love that last one "A friend loveth at all times". That is so true when you realize that God is all you need, then your other relationships get better. I've experienced that myself! :)

Happy Anniversary on your blog!

As a minimalist who continues to minimalize more and more please do not enter me. It would probably be very expensive to ship to Canada too.

Your art is very beautiful though, you can see so much thought and dedication put into what you create.

Happy Blog-aversary! I love the first print (wisdom/hidden treasure), but all are very well done. You have talent, my friend. So, given this is your one-year anniversary of blogging, what is the single most important piece of wisdom you discovered in this past year?

Happy First Anniversary.

I don't know why it has taken me so long but I've begun reading your Blog seriously, that means from the first entry. I do know why. I have too many Blogs on my Reader List.

From now on yours takes priority.

There's something in the way you write,
The words you use,
The thoughts you express
That touch my heart,
That speak to my spirit.

There is truth written plain and clear,
Truth for me
Your truth speaks to my heart.

Thank-you for being true to yourself
Thank-you for being here,
Available.
Soul to soul,
Spirit to spirit
Mind to mind
Expressing things I want to say
but fumble with.

I'm writing today's post around some of the things you've written and linked back to your Blog. I've added your Happy Blogger to me side bar.

Every entry seems to have a truth or a word of wisdom that touches me. I could cry with empathy, cry with joy, shout with agreement, cry and laugh some more with you. It's so amazing.

Thank-you for being you.
Thank-you for Blogging.
Thank-you for sharing your journey with us.

Blessings

Congratulations on your bloggoversary. I want someone else to win because I know , clutter bug that I am, they would not get put up immediately . They deserve to be framed and up on a wall and admired. My favorite also is the bears. You are an inspiration and a great supporter for more of us than you know.

Happy anniversary!!! :)

Love the prints - count me in! Even though I'm not a Christian, I chose a set of checks that have Bible verses on them. The pictures are majestic outdoor scenes. :)

Congrats on your blogversary! (Is that how you spell it? Well, I guess it's not really a real word, so I can spell it however I want!)

ANN: Just ONE piece of wisdom?? Whew... hard one.

NEVER, EVER QUIT. NO MATTER WHAT.

There were many times I "felt" like quitting, and almost did. But God never gave up on me, and so I just couldn't give up on myself, either.

MargieAnne: Thank you for your kind words... I sent you an email. If you don't get it, please let me know. :-)

JULES: Thank you, Jules. I do now. My dreams are perking up again, and I have more ideas than time! And I occasionally do a Toon Tuesday here for fun. To see past one, just go to the sidebar under "Looking for a Topic" and click on Toon Tuesday.

REBECCA: That's funny! Actually, we made the paddle for a friend's 50th birthday... their Big Five Oh.

And thank you, everyone, for such nice compliments!
