DAY 359 Happiness in a Jar & Definition

Hi to my Journal & Friends,

Would you believe I still have Fair pics to share?!

But first I wanted to tell you something cool that happened to me yesterday. I had a doctors appointment, and when the nurse (who has known me a long time) called me back, she sort of stared at me. Later, she said that she really noticed, for the first time, that my face was getting "definition". Yay for definition!

On to the Fair...

I didn't want to skip these pics because they show some things that surprised me... I was surprised at how touched I was by some of the sites at the Fair... how they stirred fond memories, and made me smile.

I guess it's just that it's been so long since I've been able to get out and do something like the Fair, so that made it extra special, too. Here are the "nostalgic" pics (can click to enlarge).

I've been afraid of heights for so long, that I had forgotten that time in my teens when I had FUN on one of these!

And of course as kids we always went into the Fun House.

Ahhh... the Merry Go Round. Now we are talking childhood memories with Momma and my brothers and sister. This was especially sweet.

These pics from the exhibits building gave me a big smile! I loved the homeyness and feeling of family and simple, clean values. These were submitted by different kid's groups.

I LOVED this one... it says "Happiness" on the label, and is a jar full of the ingredients to make "Kala's Oatmeal Cookies... The ONLY Oatmeal I'll Eat".

And naturally at an old-fashioned country Fair there are the Food entries taste-tested by the judges, and sporting their ribbons.

And last but not least, their were several gorgeous quilts that definitely deserved their ribbons!

Hope you enjoyed Nostalgia day at the Fair. :-D

From Dr Phil's book: "Your emotions flow from the meaning you attach to situations."

My verse for today: "To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God."

My quote for today: "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."  --Marcel Proust

Enjoying the Journey & feeling very Definitive today,

Loretta

Love the definition thing with the horse face...lol. I don't know why but it made me laugh out loud. I can see your cheekbones. You are looking good.
I love quilts and quilting. I have no patience for quilting.

Love your journey through the fair. I am sad I missed our local fair this year. It is always so darn hot, and I just couldn't make myself go. But next year.

And yes, your face is so pretty and defined!

Wonderful pictures. I'm glad your outing gave you such happiness. And tickled about your NSV at the doctor's. Excellent! You have all this to light your fires anew.
