DAY 220 St Patrick's Day & Honest Scrap Part 3

Hi there Journal & Friends,

Happy St Paddy's Day, everyone!

Quite awhile ago Chris, at a Deliberate Life, and Karen, at Fitness: A Journey Not a Destination, gave me the Honest Scrap Award.

I don't usually do awards, but enjoyed their answers so much, that I thought I would fit in my "10 Bests" here and there. So today I am on the third installment:

3. Best Cup of Coffee

On Day 103 I wrote a Friday Favorites post, and in the second half I talked about my favorite cuppa joe and how I make it (HERE).
I have it every morning, made by coffee barista ME. It is so luscious, and at only about 75 calories (with my cream, sweeteners and flavorings) it is sooo worth it. :-)

I have a jillion different ways to flavor it, so it is always different. My current favorite is Irish Cream. I use  a tiny pinch of powdered stevia, some Irish Cream sugar-free daVinci syrup, and about 5 drops of Capellas Irish Cream flavoring  , and 1 tablespoon cream (yep, I measure it). Mmmmm.
Best Evah!

I  have a long way to go still, on this journey. I don't want to feel like I am on a "diet", so I purposely spend a part of my calorie budget on things that I totally enjoy, like my flavored coffee. To me, it's worth it. :-)

From Dr Phil's book: "Impulse moments are critical for you to manage... you need a real strategy worked out in advance."

My verse for today: "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

My quote for today: "As you slide down the banister of life, May the splinters never point in the wrong direction!" --Irish Blessing

Yum. Your cuppa joe sounds great. I'm not much of a coffee person, but have been experimenting lately.

Treats like your coffee make me feel less like I'm missing out on something good! 75 calories?? Well, worth it indeed!

Your attitude is what makes you so successful. I love that you allow yourself "treats" - ironically my twice a week treat is the Starbucks Mocha (no fat no whip please) - its a lovely 180 calorie treat.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Loretta!

May the sun shine softly on your face--and may the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand.

You can't suck all the enjoyment out of life. :D I'm with you on that one. That sounds yummy.

I really like coffee with a shot of kahlua in it. Although I rarely drink it.

Happy St. Patricks! [do you know I thought Sunday was St. Patricks - lol - so I've been confused all day].

There is always room in the calorie budget for coffee.

NOw that I eat less, I tend to enjoy what I do eat that much more.
Good answer.
