DAY 455 Hooray for Progress!

Hi Journal & Friends,

Time once again for another Hot 100 Update!

Steve's  Hot 100 Challenge started on September 23rd. When it started, it seemed like a looonnnggg time til the end of the year. But it has FLOWN by!

I am excited to be able to report that this week has gone much better.

My 3 goal for the Hot 100 were:

1. Stay within my Calorie Budget
Better as far as the calories. I think next year I want to work not only on "quantity", but also on "quality". I keep reading about people eating "clean" and more nutritionally... I think it's time I want to start leaning that way... next year, ha ha ha.

2.  Exercise 6 days/week.
So far, so good. Been alternating between rebounding and resistance bands.

3.  Take my Vitamins EVERY day.
Since last Monday, yep.

I was especially excited this week that my left hand is so much better after the carpal tunnel surgery, and is healing so fast, that I was able to do a little exercising with my resistance bands this week.. and no pain! Yay!

From Dr Phil's book: "Avoiding these emotions instead of dealing constructively with them will tax your body and your health... denial is a dangerous filter."

My verse for today: "Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances..."

My quote for today: "Between stimulus and response is a space. In that space lies our freedom and power to choose our response. In those choices lie our growth and our happiness." --Stephen Covey

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

A special note: a blog friend a lot of you know, Mary Pax, is out of town for sad family reasons, and wanted to make sure her friends knew she would be gone for a while, and wasn't snubbing anyone. She'll be back... in the meantime, she and her family could use your prayers during a hard time. Here is Mary's blog, Wistful Nebulae.

So glad you are doing great! I am plugging along - soon the frenetic pace of craft show season will be done and I'll have more time to focus. In the meantime, I am holding my own and the scale is slowly moving.

I will definitely keep Mary in my prayers.

Hugs,
Mary

Great update - you're moving right along, Loretta. I love that you're thinking about changing up some of the food toward a more "clean" overall pattern, but planning for it rather than trying to dive right in. This way you can review some clean eating blogs and get an overview to see what things seem like the right next fit.

I love the network of friends we have here.....
I love watching out for each other, and how we can encourage each other.... and mostly - applaud each other!

Hey, WLW! Congrats on hitting those goals! Getting back in the groove can be hard!! Don't I know it.

As far as healthy eating. Yes. As much as I would like to argue, the fact is that if we are losing weight for our health rather than to fit in the skinny jeans (lol, sniff), we should show that resolve in our food choices.

Chemical laden "diet" food or junk--regardless of our calorie total--isn't in line with our goal...if our goal is health.

On my own, I would prefer 1200 calories of ice cream a day, thank you very much. I am getting to like veggies more, tho. You will, too.

To health!

Deb

Great week! I'm trying to eat cleaner too, it's amazing how much that cuts out! Baby steps at my house, or my boys will go into shock, haha! Keep it up!

Quality is a big part of the equation.

Isn't it hard to believe there is only 50 days left.

Great job on your goals! I can only work on so many changes at a time. Once I get them down then I can move on to more.

I think adjusting the quality of your food is a great goal to have! I continue to tweak and improve on mine as well.
