DAY 397 Toon Tuesday Time

Hi  Journal & Friends,

It's Toon Tuesday!

I recently came across some measurement stats I had taken YEARS ago. Just for the fun of it, I got out my trusty tape measure, and took new ones, and also looked up the last ones I had taken from January of 2010.

The results are on this chart that I had fun making (click any pics to enlarge).

For those that enjoy the process, here are some pics.

First is obviously just the drawing, inked in.

Next, a light layer of my new Neocolor II watersoluable wax crayons. Pretty blah so far, huh. (Sometimes ya have to have a vision of where you are going, and believe in it even when you can't see it yet... hmmm, what does that remind me of??)

Here it is starting to look a little more colorful, with a first wash of water.

And now to work on the details, add some shadowing, more Neocolor II's, and touches here and there.

And lastly, I put a coat of matte varnish over it, and finished up with colored pencils for the fine stuff. Voila, done!

I must say that even though the weight loss is slow, it was encouraging to see that inches are really gone. On the days when I don't feel I've made much progress, I'll drag out my little Cowgirl Up chart!

Today's Peek at the Past (Yikes... the Creep is back! It's something I still must guard against. I am getting the feeling that I will ALWAYS need to watch out for that Creep.)

From Day 36, September 14, 2009:
If I am honest, I think part of me was scared to look too closely, because in the past I would do well for a season, then just sort of lose focus, and the "creep" thing would happen. Yeah, right...like ignoring it would make it go away!  I need to have the courage to look more closely, to not be afraid of or embarrassed by my feelings. They are clues!

(For complete post "Kindness & Kicking Out the Creep " click HERE

From Dr Phil's book: "Be kind when you can, but firm when you must. You alone are responsible for what you put in your mouth, and what you do to get in shape."

My verse for today: "The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart."

My quote for today: "Lying in bed would be an altogether perfect and supreme experience if only one had a colored pencil long enough to draw on the ceiling." --Gilbert K Chesterton

Enjoy the Journey,

Loretta

Woah, when I first glanced at that picture I presumed you'd actually paid for it and that there was some funky weight loss company sell funky weight loss stationary somewhere that I didn't know about! That's quite a talent - and great that you have those inches recorded to keep you going too ^_^

Wahoo, cowgirl!

Ya know, you COULD design weight loss paper stuff. You could. Calendars, charts, graphs, coloring books, posters... stuff.

You could.

Giddy up! Great Job! I'm so glad that you found these numbers. It is so cool.

I really like seeing the progression of the art work. I didn't realize that there were so many layers. Then again I'm not an artist.
